801. A life of peace, love, and prosperity.
No more revenge. Truces between neighbors
-you cannot imagine-
(McKenzie Falker Illinois International School USA March 29 2007)

802. A faint light at the end of the tunnel.
Holding on to hope, for a life of peace
-we must imagine-
(McKenzie Falker Illinois International School USA March 29 2007)

[I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG By Jillian Barron]

803. I didn't do anything wrong! Why am I being punished? What did I do?
Many times I have wondered that as my parents sent me to my room for
something I had done. I never knew what I did.
But I had the chance to find out.
(Jillian Barron Illinois International School USA March 31 2007)

804. The victims of Hiroshima bombing would never have the chance
though they had the same questions.
They would never know why they were dying,
why their loved ones were gone, or
why they would never see tomorrow or even 5 minutes from then.
(Jillian Barron Illinois International School USA March 31 2007)

805. What were the victims thinking?
Were they crying out for anyone to help?
Or did they just lay their silent.
(Jillian Barron Illinois International School USA March 31 2007)

806. One little girl cried out. She wanted to be heard.
She wanted to know why.
She wanted more.
She wanted a tomato.
(Jillian Barron Illinois International School USA March 31 2007)

807. Her mother heard her crying and realized she had to find that tomato.
She had to stop her baby’s crying.
But there were no tomatoes.
(Jillian Barron Illinois International School USA March 31 2007)

808. She finally found, one, an answer hidden among the rubble that was
once someplace she loved.
She took it back to her baby so that she would know and understand and not cry,
but her baby was dead;her baby would never know.
(Jillian Barron Illinois International School USA March 31 2007)

809. Her child was gone as she hadn't gotten an answer.
What was the mother thinking as she stared as her dead angel?
Her fallen bird. I can feel her heart tearing.
I can feel the tears running down her dirt and blood stained face.
(Jillian Barron Illinois International School USA March 31 2007)

810. I can see the dead girl, lying before me in my arms.
I just want her to wake up so I can tell her that it wasn't her fault,
that they had made a mistake by killing her,
that she shouldn't have been punished.
(Jillian Barron Illinois International School USA March 31 2007)

811. She wasn't going to wake up.
She was never coming back.
I keep thinking of a story my teacher told me when I was smaller.
He said that the atomic bomb was so powerful when a man was leaning next brick
building when the bomb went off, his shadow was burned into the bricks.
And that was all that was left.
(Jillian Barron Illinois International School USA March 31 2007)

812. This girl was more than a shadow!
She still had a chance.
But she faded with the smoldering embers.
Faded with the memories, buried with the answers, and forgotten in the wind.
(Jillian Barron Illinois International School USA March 31 2007)

813. The Sun will rise each morning
And it will lie back down each night.
The stars will come each evening
And shine with all their might.
(NO AUTHOR Illinois International School USA March 31 2007)

814. This is a promise we can count on,
Though there will always be those days,
Dark and gloomy, with little joys,
With clouds that shield the sun's warm rays.
(NO AUTHOR Illinois International School USA March 31 2007)

815. But we always know the next day
Brings the hope of new light.
The sun, the moon, and all the stars
To bring us their love and light.
(NO AUTHOR Illinois International School USA March 31 2007)

816. The trees will grow, every day,
Closer to the sky.
The fish will always swim in water,
Birds will always fly.
(NO AUTHOR Illinois International School USA March 31 2007)

817. The ???? will come back again
Every single spring.
And with single rainstorm,
A rainbow it will bring.
(NO AUTHOR Illinois International School USA March 31 2007)

818. When the ground is dry,
We sit back and wait for rain.
To come and nurture the dry earth,
And bring back life again.
(NO AUTHOR Illinois International School USA March 31 2007)

819. So, hope will always live again,
The hope of a new day,
The hope of a good tomorrow,
The hope to find our way.
(NO AUTHOR Illinois International School USA March 31 2007)

820. I'm so glad about peace !!!!
Peace freedom in Iraqi
And other part of the world!!
What I try to say Oh oh
I love peace.
(Ibrahim Kamara 17yrs from Sierra Leone April 1 2007)
