About KISHIWADA
	Origin of the name, “KISHIWADA”: 　700 years ago, Mr.WADA, one of MASATOSHI KUSUNOKI’s family, built a castle in “KISHI”.　(Former name of “KISHIWADA”) He then, was called the “Wada of KISHI”. Try rearranging the words. It becomes KISHIWADA! 　The famous KISHIWADA-castle, was built afterwards, by NOBUKATSU OKABE in the year of Edo. 　　　What is KISHIWADA Famous for? 　KISHIWADA is famous for the “DANJIRI” festival. 　　　　　Origin of “DANJIRI” festival: 　In 1703, NAGAYASU OKABE, the 3^rd KISHIWADA-Daimyo, made a “KYOTO-FUSHIMI” shrine, inside the castle “SAN-NO-MARU”, to celebrate the repairment of YAMATO-river. He then invited all the people in town, into the castle, and prayed for rich harvest. This “INARI-festival” (INARI is the god of harvest) was the origin of “DANJIRI-festival”. YAMADAI-KITA Elementary School
YAMADAI-KITA elementary school was built in 1872, and was established in 1935. 　This area was being developed in the early years, and is quite famous for historical reasons. For example, there are ancient tumulus (graves), like “MAYUYAMA-tomb”, and a large “KUMEDA-pond”, made by Bonze GYOKI, in the Nara-Era. 　There are also peach fields nearby, in KANECHIKA-CHO. The peach blossoms every April, and gives us a wonderful view of pink carpet.There are more than 1,000 pupils in our school, and is the biggest elementary school in KISHIWADA-city.
